Richard and Elizabeth Woodyatt and 2 children sailed from England on the ship, North America, in 1840. This vessel carried the first group of Mormon emigrants from England to America, among them, John and Jane Benbow. Elizabeth is believed to have joined the Mormon church. She and her family settled in and around Dixon but did not seem to have more association with the Mormons. They are believed to have come from Colwall at this writing, but at present the ancestry beyond Richard is unclear.
